Campground Amenities
Big Cedar Campground and Livery is a Upper Peninsula campground which is family owned and family friendly.  We are centrally located in Germfask, MI, where there are many U.P. Things to Do and See. Our 10 acre Upper Peninsula campground is located on the banks of the beautiful Manistique River.  We have many great campsites overlooking the river.  We have a playground that is a safe place for  children to enjoy.  Our very clean and newly updated modern bathhouse has flush toilets, hot showers and a coin laundry. We have a playground with fun things to do. Enjoy a game of horseshoes, tether ball, ladder ball, corn hole, swing set and a sand box. We also have a picnic pavilion and a barbecue. There are Fire pits and picnic tables on all sites. Ice and firewood are available for purchase in front of office.

Big Cedar Campground History
Our Big Cedar Campground is an historical property.  From 1935-1942, it was a C.C.C. Camp built for the Seney Wildlife Refuge.  To this day you can still see some of the remains of these early years.  Some of the sidewalks and old foundations are still visible around some of our campsites.

"Camp Germfask is a forgotten Civilian Conservation Corps camp located in Germfask, Michigan. During World War II, the camp was used to house conscientious objectors. It was a small camp, with cabins situated along a stream. Today, the buildings are all removed from the area and are currently being used as buildings in Manistique, Michigan by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). The location is now known as the Big Cedar Campground." — Published 12 October 2015 by Kelsey Coon
